       nurse： Good morning， Mr， Anderson. You do look better today.

　　護(hù)士：早安，安德森先生。您今天看上去確實(shí)是好多了。

　　Patient： Better? Maybe.

　　病人：好多了?可能是吧。

　　N： Why do you stand here alone? Both the reading room and the TV-room are open now. I think you might be interested.

　　護(hù)士：您干嘛自己在這兒站著。閱覽室和電視室都開著。我想您也許想去玩玩兒。

　　P： I don'tlike reading. I've read too much all my life and gottired of reading. And I don't like television. It's noisy.

　　病人：我不喜歡讀書。這輩子讀了那么多書，早夠了。我也不喜歡電視，吵死人了。

　　N： OH， no， Mr. Anderson. Be with peo and you feel better. They said they like you.

　　護(hù)士：噢，別這樣，安德森先生。去和別人在一起您會(huì)感到好些的。大家說都很喜歡您。

　　P： Really? But they never told me that.

　　病人：真的嗎?可他們從沒告訴過我。

　　N： They dare not， Mr. Anderson. You have read a lot of books as you told me just now. You know how to get in touch with peo better than they do . I believe. Remember they like you. Don't miss the chance.

　　護(hù)士：那是他們不敢，安德森先生。您不是說這輩子讀了不少書嗎?至于如何與人相處，我想您知道得比他們多。別忘了人家都喜歡您。機(jī)不可失。

　　P： All right. Thank you for this piece of information.

　天天坐公共汽車，有沒有想過要了解一下公交車上的英語(yǔ)該怎么說?不急，我們先來看一段發(fā)生老外公車上的對(duì)話：

　　Bus driver: Move to the rear of the bus, ase. There're nty of seats in the rear.

　　Daisy: How much is the fare, ase?

　　Bus driver: Thirty cents. Drop it in the box.

　　Daisy: Does this bus go to Washington Park?

　　Bus driver: Take Bus No. 9. This is No. 6.

　　Daisy: But somebody told me this is the right bus. I'm going to Park Avenue.

　　Bus driver: This is the right bus. I'll let you off when we get there.

　　Daisy: Thanks a lot.

　　Willie: I'd like a transfer to the 66th street cross-town bus. How much is the fare?

　　Bus driver: There's no charge for transfers.

　　Willie: Is it good on any crosstown bus or only on the 66th street crosstown?

　　Bus driver: That transfer is only good on the 66th street bus.

　　Willie: I'm going to First Avenue. Is 66th Street my best way to get there?

　　Bus driver: Yes.

　　Judy: Does this bus go to Washington Square?

　　Bus driver: No, take Bus No. 10 across the street.

　　Judy: Thank you.

　　Notes：

　　1. Move to the rear of the bus

　　每次上車的時(shí)候都會(huì)聽到售票員說：“往后走，往后走，后面有座呢!”當(dāng)然了，口氣可沒有上面對(duì)話中的那位老外司機(jī)那么客氣。這個(gè)“往后走”就是“Move to the rear of the bus”了。Rear 這個(gè)詞的意思是“后面、背面”，那“In rear of”就是指“在……后面”了。

　　2. 不管是刷卡還是買票，這個(gè)坐車的費(fèi)用都可以說成是fare。如果想問“到……多少錢”，可以這樣問：I'd like to go to... . How much is the fare?

　　3. Drop it in the box.

　　如果要讓你無人售票汽車上，告訴外國(guó)人把錢扔進(jìn)投幣箱該怎么說?Drop 1 yuan or 2 yuan in the box. 千萬不要小看英語(yǔ)中小詞的威力，在外國(guó)人的日常口語(yǔ)中經(jīng)常會(huì)用的。
